Did you know?

Cornwall college was the first government school in Jamaica and the first high school in the West Indies to offer Chemistry and Physics in its curriculum.
It also had the first chemistry high school lab in Jamaica established in 1920.
This distinction is important because Cornwall College was supposed to provide doctors for the British Empire as there was a high demand for medical services as Britain was involved in multiple wars.
One of the first Pharmacist to be fully trained was Cornwall College alumni Lester Woolery, a stalwart in the industry for many years. He was responsible for setting up Lasco’s pharmaceutical department and before that, Carimed. He was also head of the pharmaceutical department in the Ministry of Health.
Of all high schools, Cornwall College has produced the most doctors in Jamaica up to now.
